Context & Problem
The FICO Platform is a software that automates data-driven decisions that work behind the scenes, such as fraud detection, credit approval, risk assessment, and customer decisions. It’s built for businesses that need to make high-volume decisions quickly and consistently.
The FICO Platform contains many kinds of models, and one of them is the Business Terms Capability (aka data models). A data model defines how information is structured and how its pieces relate.
How can we help teams agree on what their data means, so every product builds on the same understanding?
When each team defines data its own way, products start to conflict. Teams spend time untangling mismatches, asking for help, or rebuilding work that already exists. Without a shared data model, the result is slower delivery and more costly mistakes.
